Profile: Victoria Tahmaseb
Victoria Tahmasebi (PhD in Social and Political Thought, York University, Canada) is Assistant Professor of Women’s Studies at the University of Toronto at Scarborough. As an interdisciplinary scholar, her work is focused on modern and post-modern feminist and gender theories; gender role in Islam; women in the Middle-East; and the gendered face of ethics and non-violence. Professor Tahmasebi investigates how the “woman-gender” question can open Western social and political thought to a more ethical orientation, incorporating and taking into account the lived experiences of marginalized others.
